Doing good, better
Hello! I’m Anna, a freelance consultant working with good causes to sort stuff out and leave a whole range of things better than when I found them.
So many things could be causing a bottleneck in your charity, small business or community group: and sometimes just knowing what it is, is half the problem.
As a professional problem-solver, sorter-out-er of stuff and project manager, it’s my job to not only analyse what it is, but help you get to the solution.
I work with organisations who put people and planet first. I’ll listen, get to the heart of your issue(s), and then work out how to get to where you need, within the resources you have available – reducing the stress and pressure on you along the way; always being a support and bringer of ideas and clarity.
You come to me with something that’s causing friction, be it a project that’s running out of time and/or budget, an initiative that’s just not working, or a question that’s had you going round in circles, and I’ll break it down to find how to fix it.
We’ll discuss priorities, resources available, and once we’ve landed on all that, I’ll work with you (and your team, volunteers, other freelancers or whoever’s needed and within budget) to actually action it, ensuring it gets over the finish line to get the results you need.
Every project, problem and organisation is different, but there are generally four steps to my approach, once we have decided to work together:
How I can help
Discover
We will spend time together allowing you to share what’s on your plate (often this helps in itself!), and identify the problem(s) that need solving
Design
I take all the information away, and present my plan to get to the goal.
Deliver & Develop
We put in place whatever we need to move towards the goal.
Delegate
I hand over to your internal team, so they can keep up the good work in the future
What I Do
From multi-million-pound projects to mini marketing quandaries
Ten years in charity operations and senior leadership followed by over a decade of freelance work with a range of good causes and small businesses means there’s neither a problem so big, nor a project too small for me to sink my teeth into. My job is to make things better, and whether that’s on the micro scale or the macro, I’m here to give you the clarity and support that’ll get you there.
Honest, but approachable. No-nonsense, but all heart
My style of project management is very hands-on, and I love working alongside brilliant people to bring results to life, rolling my sleeves up and mucking in to get stuff done. I’m not afraid to ask the questions that need to be asked to get to the answers and prioritise efficiency. I will be honest, but always with kindness and empathy for you and your people.
Leaving things better than I found them
In everything I do, I try to leave things better than I found them. It’s why I specialise in working with businesses who prioritise people and the planet – good causes in all their forms – because it’s where I truly come alive. It’s also the mantra I take into my life outside of work; in raising two amazing humans, enjoying the beautiful outdoors, and spending as much as time as possible in my wonderful community through extensive voluntary work and enjoying local events.
What my clients say
Things that bring me joy
Community in all forms: through my choir, running group, other self employed folk, school mums...I seek out community everywhere!
Being productive and getting things done, but also having a cuppa and cake.
Volunteering in many ways, but especially helping to run my local Repair Café and saving things from being thrown away.
My lovely family, and fantastic friends.
Knowing what’s going on in my local area – from what new coffee shop is opening, to the events coming up at the weekend, to who’s the new mayor.
Participation – I just love being involved in stuff!
